Ever since its launch in 2017, the hearScope™ video otoscope has been at the forefront of ground-breaking technology, changing the way in which ear examinations are performed.

hearX's main objective has always been to provide an affordable, high-quality tool to capture images and videos of the tympanic membrane and ear canal during ear examinations.

hearX Group is releasing a free hearScope™ software update in December 2019. We have made the following new additions and improvements to the software, including:

  • An auto-crop and auto-zoom feature that enables the app to remove specula edges when taking images.
    • Image preview feature to review and edit the latest images or videos directly from the camera view; and ++ Enabling portrait view functionality, so that you no longer have to rotate the phone, unless you want to.

The auto-crop and auto-zoom feature detects the tip of the specula and automatically zoom for focused images. This feature allows instantaneous, automatic crop of images in the capture view and eliminate unutilised spaces to focus on the ear canal and tympanic membrane.

In addition to the new features, the image resolution has been improved, and quicker switch-back between screens is now possible.

The hearScope™ update will be available at the end of December 2019. Just update your hearScope™ app in the Google Play store and receive the new features for free.
