Capital investment from international partners from Europe and South East Asia to the tune of over $2.2 million emphasises the high-growth potential of this award-winning healthcare startup.
In addition, they have received more than $500, 000 in grant funding for community projects locally and internationally showcasing the impact of their solutions.
The investment and support from strategic international partners underscores the success of this young social impact startup, acknowledging the value and potential of their innovative digital solutions for healthy hearing.
Since the hearX group launched their flagship product hearScreen™, they have gone to market with several other products including hearZA™, mHealth Studio, hearTest, and hearDigits, as well as a partner product in vision, call Peek Vision.
Their mHealth and cloud-based solutions offer decentralised, low-cost access to ear and hearing care that have reached more than 70 000 people across 25 countries in a short period of time.
Mr Nic Klopper, the CEO of hearX Group, says “These investments will be used to scale existing solutions, research and development of new products, and to gain access to new markets globally”.
With their grant funding, they will spearhead several community-based projects in sub-Saharan Africa in the next 2 years to test up to 100,000 people in communities for hearing and vision loss.
As a social impact startup the hearX vision is to see healthy hearing for everyone, everywhere using connected digital health solutions. Their ambition is to connect 1 million people with healthy hearing and vision services globally by 2020.
