hearX Group, in partnership with UP Enterprises and CoT, has launched the Tirelo Bosha project with a target of screening 70,000 adults and children in Tshwane over the next 18 months. The project will be concluded by November 2018 using our hearScreen, hearTest and hearScope mobile health applications.

School Health Nurses trained in June 2017 have already started screening children at selected primary schools across Tshwane including Mamelodi, Eersterust, Soshanguve, Bronkhorstpriut and Attridgeville. Community healthcare workers will be doing home screenings for hearing loss on adults. Patients identified with potential hearing loss will be referred to an audiologist based at one of nine identified base clinics. Tirelo Bosha has provided hearX with a time-based grant of R1 920 000.00 to cover all the project costs including technology – the provision of smartphones and headphones - and implementation costs.
