sealCheck™ - your solution to test the seal of various hearing protection devices, no matter what filter they use

Earplugs are only a solution to prevent noise-induced hearing loss if it forms an exact seal inside the ear canal. The tight seal ensures loud noises only reach the ear through the protective filter inside the earplug.

Now you can test any filter with a single device, sealCheck™.

sealCheck™ was designed to test the seal quality of custom and reusable earplugs. It is an acoustic test used to validate the quality of earplugs by testing the leakage of sound when fitted in an individual’s ear. sealCheck™ simplifies the detection of unconformity to manufacturing standards of custom or reusable earplugs.

The sealCheck™ probe contains a dual channel nozzle and comes with various adapters to attach to different types of filters used for earplugs. The probe connects to a smartphone application measuring the level of seal, and indicates if the seal quality is 100% . The seal percentage is indicated on a three colour scale (red, orange and green) to easily identify if small adjustments can be made to the earplugs to get a perfect fit. A 100% seal indicates the earplug is manufactured to standard and will provide the protection it was designed for.

sealCheck™, can also be used within the Occupational Health and Safety market, and is a complementary product to the earplug industry to ensure conformance to the Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and the Council of 9 March 2016.

Current adapters available with the sealCheck™ probe can test Alpine filters, Variphone and Noise Clipper filters.
